Question about a certificate of authenticity

A while back I got screwed by this guy on ebay. I got a 1999 state quarter silver proof set from him, but I didn't get the normal box or a certificate of authenticity. I'm sure it's real, but I want a certificate. Is there any possible way to get one, even if it will cost extra money? I'd also like a way to get a box for it too.

Perphaps you could notify a local dealer that you need the box and certificate and, should he ever break up a set, that you'd be willing to purchase them from him.

Well, I'm new to the collection world, but isn't there some way to get one officially from the mint or something? That is, they would have to look at it and confirm its authenticty or something like that. Could I do anything along those lines? I do live in San Francisco, so the mint is close by.

While my word can definitely not be taken as gospel, I doubt that the U.S. Mint would consider issuing Cerfiticates of Authenticity after the fact. Nor do I think you'll be able to get just the packaging from them.

You might consider posting a thread on the Buy/Sell/Trade board asking if anybody has such things available.
