Why no 2000 coins in the 20th Cent Type?

In case PCGS does not know, the year 2000 was the last year in the 20th century. The 21st Century did not start untill Jan 1st, 2001. So why are the year 2000 coins not allowed in the 20th Century type sets?

The Sac should also be included in the 20th Cent type as well since it was minted in 2000.

This caused quite a stir when DH decided the 20th century ends in 1999. I voted for the year 2000 myself.

  • Actually it took me a minute after when I decided to start a type set. I just entered my type set in the other day, hence the 3 year delay.

In case you missed it, so did hundreds of Countries around the world. On 01-01-2000 the entire world celebrated the new Millennium. Including the US. I guess everyone was in such a rush to celebrate they didn't care they were a year early.

Why then should itty bitty PCGS buck the trend?
