A 1972 D quarter! She is gorgeous just like she came from the roll yesterday.
Thought you'd like to know you can still 30 year old PL in change.

People do things which confound the statistics of course like spend coin collections
or cut up mint sets. Since you say it's PL it seems likely that this one came from a mint
set. There are still some '65, and '76 high grade quarters in circulation and the '72-D
is the last of the others to have disappeared. Nice attractive AU eagle reverse quarters
of any date are getting decidely difficult to find in pocket change. When one is located
it will almost always be a '98 or a '96. AU's from '89 to '93 are surprisingly hard to find
and may be a little softer than other dates.
I've noticed a lot of very nice 1960's-1980's cents showing up in change recently, looking as if they'd just come out of fresh rolls. I wonder if Coinstar has anything to do with that.
