Ever seen a Lincoln with denticles?

I know it's just a piece of stuff and didn't leave the mint like this but, it made me look twice.
I'm sure I know the cause but I'll wait in case someone cares to guess.

I took this to a show once and let a lot of dealers take a look. Not a single guess. About 10 years back I sent it to CoinWorld. Used to send lots of weird stuff to them.

They seemed to be sure it was damage from a press used to press it into a Lucky holder. Could never come up with anything better. Kind of a fun coin. Thanks for guessing.

My money is on it being produced by a manual can opener....and it is likely the can opener is being operated by a wheat penny collector being lectured by his parent. I am guessing the father.
