Thanks for all your help on the last one! I appreciate the last posts with storage recommendations. I too beleive that these should be protected and looked at. I'm becoming a toning fan.

I have got to get some plastic type holders and probably the nicer ones like this graded.

It seems to have the knife edge rim of a proof, as well as a mirror under

the toning. The picture however, makes it difficult to be sure.

Telling the 1880's quarters and halves apart from MS and Proof can be tricky. The mintages were so small and they tend to be prooflike and well struck.

Nice looking coin. So was the dollar. I'd definitely get them certified so you know what you have and they are protected long term.

It has the knife edge rim! It has the mirror! The only flaw that I see is the scratch below the bottom right star.

That seems to be the best shot I can get until I pick up a macro lense.

A number of coins are actually worth more if they are mint state instead of proof. So, I wouldn't be concerned as much about whether they are proofs, as I was would, what the precise quality is and keeping them well preserved.
