AU-58, and that is difficult without coin in hand. With no rubs, MS64. Looks like light contact on the high point of the cheek, and a few rubs in the field. Maybe it's the pic.

I see rub. I have to go with AU-58, but it would be considered a choice coin and probably worth MS money. Hard to tell if it's rub or not.

I will give a few more folks a shot at Guessing the grade and then i will post the entire slab with the grade.

Again its hard to go by a photo, It does look like light rub on a few of the high points, therefore I would have to say Au-58.

If not rub and just a brush of luster loss, then MS-64

Boy, what a heck of a range AU-58 to MS 66. Usually we are all in a tighter range then this.

I hear ya bear. It's probably the result of the image. Maybe a shot or two with different angles or lights? Maybe just mail everyone in the thread the coin for a few days. image

I can tell ya this much.......no way is that coin 65 or 66, just on the merits of the strike and/or the black debris on the bust. I am sticking with AU-58. I own some AU-58's with mind-blowing luster.

Yes it is shaping up to be a wide range of opinions. This is wonderful. ok Get ready and i will post the slab in full shortly.
Then we will know the answer.

  • With no rub, I say ms64. The strike appears too weak at the hair above the ear to grade any higher. If it's a circulated piece- AU58.

    No guess, only comment.
Looks dirtier than what I've seen, no deep bagmarks, maybe the AU's are right!? But looks MS. I can't wait to see what it is.

  • First time I got one of these " Guess the Grades " right. I`m running out of good material to show for the guess the grade. I`ve already show most of my best ones. At least the ones I wouldn`t be embarressed to show on this forum.

I would love a Guess the grade in lesser material so if you have something that is not MS then that would be great to post in a guess the grade.
You Guessed it correctly tonight. This was a tuff one due to poor photo but i am getting better at taking the pic's, just got to get the light down.
