Is this still the US coin forum or an open forum?

It seems that for every post about coins there are 10+ posts about non-coin related subjects or eBay stuff. While I do not mind the off topic stuff I sure do miss the coin info, history, pic's, etc.
You can agree or disagree with the statement but just think about it and research threads over the past 6 months.

Is there someting in the air in TX to help these form ?
How to you continually find new ones to sell?
Is there anything you do to help the process speed up?
I have seen some of your purple bullseye commeratives on coins less than 20 yrs old which I usually only see on coins over 100 yrs old.
I am just curious because I love that look (although can not afford any yet).

Some of my favorite post to read are the ones with links to pic’s. I am concerned that you like a bunch of white coins!

Send me an email or a PM as I do not want this post turned into an artificial toning debate……Been there and own many t-shirts. I travel all around the US buying only toned material plus people send us a lot on approval.
I owe most of my toning knowledge and training to a guy that post here named GSAGUY and the 1000’s of tone coins I see each year. TBT is primarily a bullion business and I personally only deal with tone coins.

You tell them!!!!. Show them how you corrupted me with toned coins!!

Looking for PCGS AU58 Washington's, 32-63.
Sorry, I hadn't seen your thread. This one must have bumped it off the first page.
It's a good thread and worthy of a reply. Which I just gave it.

the only hole in your topic rant is that there are times when legitimate questions are asked or knowledge shared and it falls on deaf ears. the result being that there are times when a well intentioned thread or idea gets diverted.
here's an example that concerns you and goes back about 6-8 weeks:
we were discussing 1960's era proofs and the question was raised about the tone on some still-in the-cello nickels. you chimed in with a fine comment about the various washes used by the mint since 1936 when they started minting proofs again. it related to the planchets being washed and the number of times they changed in the early 60's on cents and nickels.
that was a new one on me. never heard it discussed before. i either PM'd you, which i can check, or it was a question i posed within the thread. still waiting for an answer. i assume it is factual information and i think it would produce some good response and education for a time period that is of interest to a number of collectors.
do you care to respond to the inquiry?? thanks.

As I must have missed your question, please restate it either here or in a PM.
DCAM,
Raising people’s awareness to an issue is very proactive, as this thread has done.
As to the few others that point out that this thread is also off topic. You are correct! Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the stomach for the open forum plus the people whose post I follow post here only most of the time. There are several great replies in this thread with awesome coins.

I think you answered your own question.
Personally, I don't mind the off topic threads as long as the subject is clearly stated in the title. I can then decide whether or not to skip it.
To those who say that we should just ignore the O/T ones, I think that is a bit passive and does injustice to the real problem here.
This forum is very active, which is generally a good thing. But, if the SNR is too low, then that becomes a bad thing, and I think we should be more active in trying to bring the SNR up to a more acceptable level.
Please don't take my comments here as indicating that most people here are O/T or trollish posters. Rather, most are not. It's just that if each of us are doing it just a little bit (for fun, whimsy or whatever and without intent to be rude or trollish), and with so many folks here, it'll add up.
It would be nice if each of us can try to be O/T just a little bit less...
