My first player set submissions

I went through a bunch of my Marcus Allen cards and submitted 68 over two submissions. Some of the cards were very tough, with 20 or less in existence and only 1 in my collection, so I wasn't neccesarily expecting high grades on those. The rest, I chose the best of the best.

9's - 34
8's - 17
7's - 4
6's - 1
5's - 1 (I must have missed a wrinkle)
No Holder Available - 1 (probably too thick)

Rare cards where I had no choice:
10's - 3
9's - 10
8's - 10
7's - 4
6's - 1

Best of the best from my horde:
10's - 7
9's - 24
8's - 7
7's - 0
6's - 0
5's - 1

Obviously, I'm very happy with these results. The question is, Did I

a) Get lucky.
b) Benefit from these cards all being modern.
c) Screen the cards well.

Probably a combination of the three, but nice grades just the same. It takes a good eye, regardless of the year, to look at centering and corners and other key components.

I will honestly say that it has taken a dozen or so submissions to improve #2 and #3 for me. But, I think that they outweigh #1.

Once you know what you are looking for and carefully screen them, I don't get surprised too often. Meaning, I'm either one grade up or down at the most.

However, I can never explain the mystery 6 that always seems to find its way into my submissions.

That wasn't for my player set so I didn't include it in my numbers . I knew it was bad but it was six bucks in the running back rush special so I sent it in anyway.
