Opinions please: will it slab or get bagged? grade, eye appeal?

Baley, that looks like a nice original tone to me. I would think it will grade in the ms65 area and the eye appeal looks great.

ms-64 unless the luster is much nicer than looks in the digipic. i could definitely see a plastic company stupidly refusing to slab it, frankly, i'm not sure why you'd want to! it is a beautiful coin that looks exactly like it should, unencumbered by a big, ugly slab.

Looks real to me but the coin must have been in a paper envelope. The 59 mint sets were in the mint sealed cellophane if im not mistaken. Only misgivings I have is that it is the same on both the obverse and reverse. That leaves me slightly worried.

Yes it will get a plastic home, but I would think a High 64 unless the coin has attributes unseen in the photo

Looks like nice natural toning to me, you shouldn't get it back in a BB. Can't really give you a grade, I stink at grading Washingtons.

I agree with Eagle7 (hes much, much better than Eagle6 by the way, that guy was lame) when he said that the same toning on obverse and reverse made him nervous - looks odd. Isn't that uncommon on one of these multi-colored jobs? (as opposed to a 'touch of gold around the rims' toned piece).

On the other hand, most of my Washingtons are milk-chocolate colored.

The coin is pretty but, on my monitor, it shows no greens and comes up with purples and oranges. Given that, I think there is a good chance that the coin would be bagged. I'm not saying it's AT, I'm saying that the grading services might not holder it.

I have to agree with Tom, my monitor shows the same colors so it is a toss up as to whether they would slab it or not. I cannot tell from the picture but unless it is a high grade it might not be worth taking the chance.

I see purple and orange also. Not typical colors for a 1959 coin.

If the colors are light enough, then I would say it will be slabbed. If it is heavy like the old mint sets, then probably a body bag.
