Is probably because the very coins we are trying to get graded vary so much...
Answer these questions if you would - Below are 4 coins - all the same year and mint, all graded MS64:
1. Which was graded by PCGS?
2. Of all of these - Which one would you want to add to your collection (provided you wanted an MS64 dollar)
3. If you were selling these, which would you put the gratest value on?
I think by the time we gather a few answers we'll have a lot of the answer as to why we differ so much in our opinions about grading and pricing.

#2 and #4 about even.
I believe that's the newly discovered Monica Lewinsky variety.

My guess is #2.

The one with the least amount of tarnish, probably #1.

Hard to tell from the images offered...it would be the one with the best luster and least contact marks. Basically, the one that really does grade the highest.

1 is, in my opinion, too bagmarked to be a 64.
2 is wild. I'd want that one for myself, and I'd think it would be worth the largest premium.
I'm guessing coin 4 is the PCGS piece.

NO, I DON'T!
As I mentioned, all of these coins are MS64.
Yes - #2 - "The Smoking Lady" as I like to call her - is the PCGS entrant
#1 is the Prooflike from this morning - great mirrors and cameo effect - very pretty in person
#3 is really a wonderful coin - very few marks gold with subtle magenta over the main device area that makes the entire coin look like a rainbow as you turn it.
#4 is a killer end roll coin with the paper patterns very well laid out and colors that would knock your socks off overlaying a semiprooflike surface.
Happy days all

#1 White shiny Morgan...yawn...
#2 Kinda neat but the paint is scratched off in front of Liberty's nose.
#3 Hmm.. don't know what that's going on there.
#4 Cool colors and unusual tone pattern and everybody knows endrollers are the best.
#1 - the one i want
#2 - the most expensive
