Should I pull the trigger?

Kinda pricey for my budget, but what do you guys & girls think?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

the obv. looks nice but the rev. looks like a little kid got a little happy with the magic markers. (i wouldn't buy it)
  • Looks like a great coin Michael - if you can afford it, go for it - may not get another chance!

    How much is it?

I cant be sure, but with all the Forum discussion about AT coins, I would

be very cautious on this one. If its not in a PCGS holder I would pass.

  • Looks to be around AU-50. Here`s a scan of a `27 - D AU-55.

    1927 - D Peace PCGS AU-55 Obverse

    1927 - D Peace PCGS AU55 Reverse
  • Michael - correct me if I'm wrong - but that looks like a 34D and I would venture to say in high mint state - true?

    Good eye Frank, it's a 34-D in a PCGS MS65 slab.

  • Whoa! I just proved that I suck at grading Peace Dollars.image

Frattlaw, I think it's probably graded correct. If you decide you don't want it let me know and I'll take a look see.

This one's probably going to close at more then $2,000.00

This is what happens when you collect toned Peace dollars and attempt to put together an entire set. As Frank says, I might HAVE to buy it. It might be a loooonnnnngggg time before I see another 34-D with that kinda of color.

Stman---- I thought you were done with the toned Peace thing? Move on already, aren't there some nice toned Morgans you can find! imageimage

Frattlaw, I've moved on. Actually I like Barbers but haven't seen any nice ones (I'm real picky on these) for a while. If you can get that for 2000.00 it would be a good deal. Grey sheet ask is 1750.00, and that's for any Peace$ in 65. But I would think with the toning it will go for more than 2000.00.

I like toned stuff, but I'm on the fence with that one. It may be the price. For $2k+, I'm not sure if I love it enough. Of course, it's not my money though. The obv. seems awesome. The reverse........ok. Attractive, but $2k attractive.....I don't make enough money image
