How long will countries continue to use coinage?

Will credit cards eventually replace all coinage and currency?

    I think money as we understand it will be around, at least through this century. We tend to take for granted that there's a large part of the population without the means or requisite background (IE bankrupcies, poor credit history, etc.) to have a charge account of any sort. Add to that the fact that many countries aren't even ready to participate in anything of this sort, and I think you wind up with the conclusion that money will still be around for a while longer.
