Look at what my son brought home today...two seated quarters

My 12 year old son Mark did some after Christmas shopping with Grandma that included stops at several coin stores. After careful consideration he selected two very nice seated quarters. He wanted me to post them on the board so everyone could see his new additions to his collections.

Please go easy on him, he's only 12 image

I like the 1858 a lot. Now that's a coin that LOOKS like it has seen some history.

Mark, keep up the good work. I am glad that you are interested in coins like these that have real history behind them.
  • I will never tell a yn that he got something he shouhldnt have. Becauce they buy what they like and we all need to remember that. No they arnt MS70 but they dont need to be. Actually my seated quarter is 1876S and it has seen better days. I got mine in a grab bag . SO all in all
I think you son did a GREAT JOB. I just wish I bought stuff like that when I was his age.

I think they're great! I don't have any seated quarters in my collection. Plus, they look cool! Nice purchases.
  • Both of those are very nice. I really like the 1858, and would enjoy having either in my collection.

  • Wow, 2 seated quarters at 12. I think I was about 20 to 22 when I picked up my first seated coin.

I liked them so much, I went out and then bought 1/2 dime through $1.

    Well done at 12 !!!

The '57 is not for me, but the '58 is beautiful, a really original piece. One that I would be happy to have in my collection!
  • I love them. He did great.
