i don't know what the rules of using the process for a regrade are so i'm curious if anyone can explain a few thngs; 1st has anyone here ever gone thru the process for an upgrade or a downgrade? 2. while the benefits of receiving an upgrade are obvious, if you think you have a technically over graded coin in a p.c.g.s. slab and submit it for a downgrade, if p.c.g.s. agrees with you its a point lower do they pay you the difference and send you the coin back in a newly downgraded slab at no charge?
The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

That would be one of the solutions. Sometimes, though, they may also simply buy the coin outright at market for the grade and keep it.

The policy on the guarantee resubmissions is that we pay the cuurent market value for the original grade and we keep the coin...or we pay you the difference between the current market value of the original grade and the resubmission grade and you keep the coin...your choice.

A similar coin is on TT right now with a $4900 bid. Didn't pay that much, but I would surely deposit the check
I have recently had to use the PCGS guarantee and I can tell you first hand that they do treat their submitters right. I dealt with Charlie and it was surprisingly easy and smooth. Since you're not a gold or platinum collectors club member you technically have to send it in via a dealer however I think if you call PCGS directly and speak to Charlie he may be able to accomodate you (although I can't speak for him). I think it will probably depend on if you think the coin was simply technically overgraded or if you think it was damaged/mishandled. Like I said, call Charlie and he'll tell you what to do.

Compare that to trying to get your money back from a dealer that sold you a raw coin that develops a fingerprint over time.
The PCGS holder is more than just a grade opinion.
