Anybody that describes any raw coin as 'Gem BU' is not to be trusted.
If it was truly a gem, the benefit to be had by submitting it and having it slabbed as a 65 or more makes it inconceivable to me that someone would not do it.
Honestly, the coin seems OK based on the scan, but I bet anything that in person its corrupted.
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. I disagree when it comes to a "raw" coin not being certified. Although I own quite a few slabbed coins I prefer coins NOT in a plastic holder. There are many coins remaining out there that are "Gem BU" coins not in a plastic holder. There are also many collectors out there (me included) who don't care for the manner in which grading companies conduct business. Just my opinion!!!!!!!!!! AL
Could the old say fall it to play here,"If it looks to good to be true," (and so on)
Copperhead has a point. But with this guys feedback, I think this coin should be in a graded holder, Call it Insurance. I think it would be safe to say that a high % of people (collectors, dealers, traders,) place coins like this in a holder. Graded coin we all know bring higher prices.. My only ? is , Why isn't this coin graded?

Anytime you see a nice coin NOT in a slab use extreme caution. I don't care what the pix shows.
I also dont care for the chocolate swirl on the coin and the "ATE" in states look weak. NOT a MS65.

Gotta love them Mercs
