I Think it's time for a Moderator on this and U.S. Coin Forum

Two people continue to make this a very unpleaserable experience for some of us. Personal problems should be worked out between the parties and not on the boards ! ! ! Someone needs the authority to knock these threads of the Boards....

I have never seen two people that are so hard headed that they have no concideration for others...

Please, PCGS get involved and stop the madness.

Don: I tend to agree with you. A thought that came to my mind is to have (3) moderators per board. Where 2/3 moderators agree something should be stricken, then it is stricken. This covers the possibility that a particular moderator may not be available at any given time to address an issue and also protects against a single moderator doing something no one else would agree with.

    What do you think?

Not that I agree/disagree with the need for a moderator, but if it weren't for these posts, this forum would be even more dead than it already is.

I don't think we need a moderator we just need 2 so called ADULTS to take their issues elsewhere.

Please, no moderators!!! There is enough controversy already. Like Larry Flint used to say, " If you don't like it, then don't look ".
It is not that hard to skip over all the BS. Besides some people enjoy the flaming threads. I do not enjoy them, but there is something to be learned from even the worst flame threads.......Zerbe

I would like the option of being able to delete from my personal forum page any Posts I find too looooooooong and 'out of control'.

    Lucy,

Thanks for keeping us Ike guys on the list.

I knew I liked you, but I was unsure until that last line!

  • I do agree with you Wondercoin, I don't think it would take but a couple of instances and the crap would stop. I have no problems with people sharing their coin dealings with other members, However 170 + post to unrelated issued that are neither right or wrong are unacceptable. And then come over to the Registry Forum and see another thread ( days later ) of 42 + is , well it needs to stop..

Again I don't think it would take longe to stop the argument(s)..

    Don

    PS

I think Lucybop is predjudice about those Frankie's, but she cute so it's O.K. ...

The Forumn was dead, we needed that crap......Wrong. Really this place is Really Tame compared to what it was a year or so ago. We that used to bash each other just ignore each other now. Moderators here...No...the Coin Board....Yes.

    Cheers.

    Don,

I don't think we need a moderator. All we need is for Carol to nuke the two threads and the couple of people who keep bringing them to the top. Problem solved.

I think we need two big bruisers, named Harry the Silver Hammer and Boom Boom Maxwell.

They will travel the country and splain things to the Forum miscreants.

Actually ,we dont need no stinking moderator. What we need is a bartender.

Lacking that ,a nice ice cream fountain might do.

    i agree with Russ.

A while back I seem to remember BJ saying she, or Carol, would monitor the forums. With the Holidays perhaps things have slipped by.

Having monitors could be viewed by some as playing favorites. That presents the potential for an even bigger problem.

    Moderator?

    We cycle through this regularly:

Things flow along OK. Troll appears. People get mad. Troll enjoys the foment. More outrage ensues. The call for moderator goes up, and we all debate the pros and cons. Everybody gets tired of the foment. Troll goes on to browner pastures. The call for moderator is forgotten. Things flow along OK....

Some problems get solved by ignoring them. image

  • Before we get a moderator, let us form a committee. After we form the committee, we can agree how many days to meet and discuss. After we discuss, we would want to break-out into sub-committees. After the sub-committees, we would probably need to get outside consultants to monitor our sub-committees and report back to our committee. We can have all of this on C-SPAN, so all Forum members can watch.

Worse case scenario, one could pick their forum members that they enjoy/are comfortable with and from that choose specific threads OR the opposite can be done (pick the threads and look at the Forum member that started it).

    To summarize, please, no moderator.

I think we need to appoint a Focus group to prepare a mission statement.

Then a Grand Executive Council of the most disturbed and violent among us,

can appoint sub committees to handle issues such as : Verbal abuse, innuendo, malice aforthought

religious intolorance, mental deficiency ,confusion , psychosis, delusions, depravity, bad jokes and finally

dehydration from causing people to get pi$$ed off.imageimage

I like Boom Boom Maxwell and Harry, The Silver Hammer.
  • By all means - get someone to deleat the postings you don`t like; heck -then have them kick out the people you don`t like ! Then get rid of the minorities, and the trolls, and the ........etc. This is America by God -if you don`t like or agree with what you read, then move on. I`m one of the TROLLS that can really stir the pot, and i`m a tellin` you; don`t take yourselves so seriously !!!

First of all Mr Gembens, you need the intellectual ability to recognise satire.

Then you must be able to recognize the marked difference between merely curmugeons such as you

and I from people determined to disrupt, the flow of information and good will of the Forums.

Being disagreeable is not sufficient to make a person a Troll. As long as your heart is pure

and your motives are honest then all such good people are welcome to become an active

part of our family. It takes an awful lot of mayhem for a person to earn the label of Troll.

In time, you will understand as we have all come to understand.

  • Folks, I for one would not want a moderator ever.TextWhat I would certainly like to see happen is, when someone comes out looking for an audience, that we simply fail to bite and don't give them one - just ignore them after it becomes obvious by their messages that they are just trying to agitate us gentle souls who would rather rip their heart out through their nose and roast it for dinner before giving it to the vultures who would reject it anyway. Peace and goodwill gentle souls.

Trolls would be more appealing, at least to bears if they were covered in honey and sprinkled with

sesome seeds.Oh yes, and they should carry a silver dollar in their pocket, at least an

    ACG MS 70 PLDM.
