Return policy for PCGS/NGC slabbed coins?

image I wish someone would explain to me why the grading services have no part in this debate about returns on EBAY or any forum for that matter. This on approval or return policy is deeply rooted in the past excesses of numerous dealers before slabbing became popular. Now that we have the big two, PCGS and NGC, they must be laughing at us behind our back and happy that we fight among each other about the grades which they have charged us to put on our coins! Amazing stuff. We fuss with each other. We send the things back and forth. Then sometimes we send the things back to be graded again. All this money wasted by us when they are the ones who benefit. Seems to me that if we really believe in the whole theory of having grading services slab our coins, we should consider capping the money we would pay for a sight unseen PCGS or NGC coin to the sight unseen bid and forget about the return if we want to buy electronically. Most of this is really just greed. All of us would like to buy our coins at half price on the electronic market and have the thing come in the mail and be a very PQ shot at an upgrade. And if we pay a wholesale price for the coin, and it dissapoints us, hey isnt it still in a PCGS or NGC holder and isnt it still worth what you or I paid for it. If so, no one who buys PCGS or NGC coins electronically for cheap deserves a return in my opinion. This is strictly related to sight unseen electronic buying. I much prefer to put extra money into a coin purchase from a major dealer who sells pq stuff.
In an insane society, a sane person will appear to be insane.

You are very right that the system is not perfect. Yes, there are many things that could be improved, but remember the bad ol' days before third party grading and it is a whole lot better now. Still, any coin bought sight-unseen (which includes off the Internet), should have a return policy, in my humble opinion (imho).
