New Orleans Coin Shops - Updated After Visit

I'm looking for coin shops in the New Orleans area to visit on a future trip. Please post any info on shops--good & bad-- and what they carry.

Southern Stamps and Coins on Metarie Ave.

Dennis Dooray (not sure I spelled his last name right).

    Normally has a nice inventory.

Tell him I sent you, and he should treat you right.

There are a few shops in the quarter, but they are way overpriced.

This dealer is a bit of a crap-shoot. Never know what you will find on any day -- sometimes underpriced for quality merchandise. Other times nothing worthwhile at any price. Sells a lot of guns and antiques. Can often bargain with him after a Saints win. If you are interested in something in particular, a phone call is a good idea (also to see what kind of mood he is in).

Well, I'm back. I did not make it to Southern Stamps and Coins because they were not open on Saturday. I did make it to James H Cohen & Sons Inc Antiques Guns & Coins. They had some nice material in stock... but way over priced.

    Examples...

1875 Seated Quarter, PCGS PR64, Nice deep purple/blue toning, $1,500. Ouch. Others were similar.
Common date Peace Dollar, PCGS MS64, $40+

On a 1906-O Barber Dime in MS64 with a significant Mar across the face & neck (Like 75% of the cheek, 50% of the neck) & and a very nice other than spotted reverse, the dealer told me that mark was the only thing that kept it from MS67!
