Anyone know anyhting about VCDs?

I heard you can burn MPEGs on to CD-R as a VCD, and they will be compatible with some DVD players. Anyone know?

Thanks,
Neil

  • Better yet, go to VCD Help.

The best programs to use are Nero Burn and EZ CD Creator.
  • auto is right but i shall explain it furthermore. Below are the pros and cons about nero and ez cd creater

Nero: It can burn almost any kind of video on a vcd. (it encodes it b4 burning) But the Video quality is pitiful and sometimes the videa is ahead of the audio or vice-versa.

Ezcdcreater: Burns GREAT vcds. But only allows a certain file type. Only mpeg, and there are different kinds of mpeg and its suprising like 1 in 20 of my video clips worked for it. It suggests finding a vcd encoder and most vcd encoders dont even work with it.

Go with nero unless someone can find me a fast, free encoder for vcds on ez cd creater.

    Hope that helps.
