yah, it's an auction tactic that's been around for decades. b&m used to do it a lot. assign an extremely conservative est. to a coin so that (1) it attracts lots of attention (2) makes the consignor feel good when he gets 5x the estimate (3) makes the auctioneer look good that "gee, we got 5x the estimated price for ya!"
