I originally posted this in the US coin forum, I then noticed this forum and thought I would get the real answer here...

I have a 1946 Lincoln graded MS66RD by PCGS. It has a large finger print on the obverse and a smaller print on the reverse....!!! I don't remember seeing these marks when I bought it, I wouldn't have bought it...! I don't beleive it would have recieved a grade of MS66RD if they had been there when it was graded.
Does it take a little time for the prints to show on a coin?
Will PCGS do any thing about this?
Thanks
Gene

Sometimes fingerprints take a while to show. In these instances, we have to eat it...under the terms of our grading guarantee. We chalk it up as a cost of doing business. You certainly shouldn't have to suffer in this circumstance.
Contact Sandy Locker and she'll arrange for you to send the coin back to us and we'll take care of it for you.
