I for one speak out only for myself in saying I've about had it with the crap, snivelling, attacks, counterattacks, and pretty bluntly - childishness. About time I found a different place to participate. I came here for coins, all I read is fighting. It was fun at one time, but this pepperwhatever crap has spoiled my appetite. I'm gone for at least the time being, possibly for good. If you people can't learn to work out your differences in private outside a forum intended for the exchange of coin information, I suggest they change the name of the forum so people looking for a "US coins" forum can skip this one altogether.
For those people with whom I am currently working on a shipment, or for those who are interested in the type of information I have posted here over the past couple of months, please feel free to contact me by e-mail. For the remainder of you, I hope you can bring this place back around to what it could be - a useful forum about US coins without the overtone of immaturity.

Weird posts crop up now and then on any message board. I wish the moderators would at least move them to a more appropriate spot when they start to take over the entire board.
Hate to see you leave if it is permanent because you made some good informative posts.

you'll be welcomed back. Good Luck.
I don't think leaving would be a good idea; it merely serves to increase the ratio of garbage to content. I too am sick of all the vitriol that permeates this message board. But, I'm sticking around in the hopes that I may be able to do a little good in bringing this around.
Besides, in spite of the mass of content-less posts, there is still some good posts here -- if you're lucky enough to find 'em.

Unfortunatley, here, we have to wallow through a few smelly oysters to stumble upon a few pearls of information.

The administrators have booted people in the past, but it's very rare. There was talk at one time about having volunteer moderators, and I think they've already done that in another forum here, but normally this forum doesn't require a babysitter. The occasional commotion dies down after a couple of days. I believe the admins stick their heads in here when someone contacts them with a complaint, but otherwise it's infrequent.
Sometimes it would be good to have a moderator around, as sometimes all that would be necessary is to give offenders a few days "vacation".
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I build web forums all the time and always have them moderated 24X7 cause to many people in this world like to cause trouble.
Being a hyperactive person and always needing to do something. Im dieing to start up a web forum for Coins and moderate the hell out of it cause I hate asses.
Basically it would be a clone of this message board.

Some of the people on this forum have a nack for getting under people's skin, and I have a nack for being able to ignore it to a point. The happenings over the past few days and no less than four threads about a single problem (as if the first one were even necessary) have really put a damper on things for me. Someone else stated that it was interesting how a good coin related post gets a couple of responses, yet the flaming threads get 50. Thing is, all the flaming threads stack up on top of the good information washing them into the abyss of back pages. It's not the flames themselves that bother me, I could care less about their problems. What bothers me is the fact that someone comes in here, asks a good question, and assuredly receives fewer responses than the question merits because the originators post is washed to page 2 within half an hour. Without all the garbage posting going on that wouldn't be the case nearly as much.
I figure if I give this some time to mellow out a bit then try it again at a slower pace, things will work themselves out....and if not, I simply won't come back. There are other places to go that have plenty of participants willing to partake of each other's wisdom in a civil manner. If this place can't be that place, I see no need in bothering with it.
