These two coins are in the original rattle style holders. Guess the grade on the holder, and please give you opinion on how you think they would grade today--better or worse and why. I'll post the grades later.

Coppercoins, Great Job!
The 1944-D MS65FB
The 1944-S MS64FB
Both coins are in first generation holders and look way better than coins of the same grade in new holders. Of course it is not worth sending them in for an upgrade, but it's fun to compare.

There is a glare on the 44 which hides the eye and nose details, but it seems to have nice hair and feather detail. Beautiful luster and small but not detracting marks around the neck and near the "y". Nice FSB on rev. Overall, MS 67?
On the 44S fewer marks overall than the 44, But a couple of large ones. One under the B on the obverse and one above the "one" on the reverse would keep this from going higher than a 66 IMO.
I think they should grade about the same today as they did originally. Assuming the graders are/were using the same standards. Do you think they're more or less lenient now? I really have no idea.
Thanks for the thread and the pics!
I will take a stab at it and say
MS 65 Full Split Bands for the 1944
MS 66 on the 1944S

65 fsb on the 44 s. There seems to be more marks. Also a couple of spots. Re-grade today I think it might go down to a 64.
44S - 66
Usual caveats re: grading pics, etc.
44S - MS64
Edited: Much more resolution would be reqiured in the photo along with good lighting to really be able to grade them with any tinge of accuracy. The above are simply flat guesses, just like everyone else here is doing.

In all fairness, they look much better than the grade on the holder.
