Hi
I recently aquired a Patrick Roy csa grades card and was wandering what exacally it was.
on the tag inside the case it says
1986 PROOF CSA140948
#53 PATRICK ROY RC
O-PEE-CHEE 8-NMMT

and it also has a blank back. Is this a error card or what? here is a pic of it hopefully you can see it.
and could you estimate a value for it??

Please let me know all that you know thanks robert

Robert,

Sorry we do not estimate values on cards, much the same way we do not buy or sell cards ONLY grade them. The card you are inquiring about is commonly referred to as a 'proof' or a 'blank-back' Often times Topps either sells or in some other way blank backed sheets of Topps cards 'escape' from the factory. That is what you have acquired, and a very nice card too.

  • The card you got is called a "Proof" and it's either from a uncut blank back sheet or a box top. Alot of those cards were put into the market and some people stated that only 10 existed etc....all crap. The card basically is worth less than half of what the real one is worth....and that's if you can find a buyer on it. I consider the blank back crap, I saw a dealer who had 40 of them in one shot so they are not rare at all. Best thing to do is get rid of that card and get a real Roy OPC RC.
