Vince Carter is Going to be Traded?????

Something is cooking in Toronto. I've read quite a few different trade rumors but this one is pretty surprising. I'd expect at least a star in return for Carter because he can still fill an arena...even hurt...

Well I hope they get more than Miles and the Big Z for him......those guys get hurt just as easily as Carter.....

it would be interesting to see Carter traded, although going to Cleveland would greatly hurt his hobby status as it is already starting to do with Darius Miles. On the other hand, if the Cavs are lucky enough to get the #1 pick and have LeBron James and Vince Carter on the same team then they will definitely be the most exciting team to watch with them already having Ricky Davis and DaJuan Wagner.

usually when you hear about trades they don't happen. 75% of the rumors you hear are just that. Rumors. not saying this won't happen, but don't believe everything you read. wouldn't be a horrible trade for Toronto. When Ilgauskgus is healthy he's probally the best center in the east and miles looks to have a bright future

I'd suggest working out this deal: Vince for Kobe (but with extras on both sides..picks...throw-ins)

I bet if Carter was in LA he wouldn't get hurt (he has absolutly no passion anymore here in Toronto) and the Zen master can work his Zen on Carter and make him what he was suppose to be 2 years ago. Carter wouldn't be the main attraction on teams defensive set ups (Mr. Shaq is) and the kick in the a$$ would wake up the Lakers and they would start flying again. Many Kobe lovers would forget him because a healthy Carter is very pleasent to watch.

As for the Raptors...they would get an allround star who has abit of an attitude. He would get a chance to lead a team and prove his doubters wrong. Don't know if he would love it here in Toronto but it would be a good chance for Kobe.

I know this might tick off some of you Kobe lovers but LA needs a change or two...they are not going anywhere currently. Shaq loves Vince big time and did say he would love to play on a team with him (Shaq shows up to every VC charity game....) Just a suggestion.....#15 in Purple and Gold would look pretty nice............

There is absolutely no truth to these rumours! Why would Toronto want to trade Vince at all? It makes no sense and trade his when his value has never been lower??? He is the franchise and there is no way Grunwald will make a move unless he is getting in return one of the following players: Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, Kidd, or T-Mac. None of those players will be moved so that means VC will remain a Toronto Raptor.

The Toronto Sun is not a credible newspaper and they throw out a lot of rumours just to sell papers... remember they also said that Keon had already agreed to re-sign with the Raps and guess what... a week later the Raps can't even offer him a qualifying offer. For the casual fan they may take these rumours seriously but just looking at the contract the trade does not work and Vince's contract is still under BYC as well.

if the raptors are gonna trade carter, how about Z and ricky davis instead of miles. of course other players would have to be added to make the trade work under the cap. tonronto gets an all star caliber center and pretty much a soon to be all star. the raps will still fill the seats because of davis''s highlight reels. and the cavs get a proven player in carter.

i like davis more than carter. if the trade was z and miles for carter, cleveland gets the better end of the trade. if it was z and ricky d, then toronto would get the better end.

The main thing is if you believe Carter is going to be injury prone for the rest of his career. If he can't get into the form that he use to be then he isn't even worth Miles and Big Z. But if he get's back to where he was, I think he is an untouchable player because he fills the seats and that's what GM's and owners love. Ricky's been jamming like an idiot this season yet only 300 fans show up to every Cavs game. If Carter was in a Cavs uniform, expect some sell out games...

The Toronto GM has just made the statement that "Vince Carter will not be traded". The whole Raptors organization put in way too much into Carter to just let him go for good players...they would need a star in return.

Why whould anyone want vince now. He is sorry to say washed up. he has lost his game. Ricky davis wants out of the cavs camp but i dont think he will go to the rap. I also saw above vincecarder say that he could see a kobe for vince trade. Are you kidding me!!!! I hate kobe but that would be without a dout the dumbest trades ever.

Vince isnt even a top 30 player in the nba now.

Vince for Kobe (with throw-ins) would be fair...After Vince gets healthy again (he will), will be one of the best players in the league again....I will admit he is as good as Kobe and T-Mac...Not top 30? That is crazy, he isn't over the hill at 24-25 years old!!! And Ricky Davis looks like an all-star capable player, but Vince still has enough game to make him a bigger priority than Davis, if Davis is soo good, why is his team in last place, while having some talent around him? Just doesn't add up..

I think if Vince was in a Lakers uniform he would dominate. He's so use to getting double and triple teams that all the breathing room Shaq creates will result in some monster dunks....like the old Vince we know and love.

For the people who think Carter isn't top 30...please....if you were a GM you wouldn't want a healthy VC on your team? Carter needs knee surgury (replacement) and that's it. He should have got it last year but was chicken to get it done. After he get's hurt for the final time this season and calls it quits, he will get a new knee and be as good as he use to be. Bonzi pulled it off, so can Vince. A fully recovered Vince Carter playing the way he did in his third season (carried the Raptors to one shot away from the Semi-finals) is worth his weight in gold.

But I know that Vince won't leave the Raptors...the only way he will go is if he demands a trade.

That's exactly it.....other people have come back 100% after knee replacement. Bonzi Wells is playing even better. With today's technology Vince would be flying for next season. No more injuries because it would be a new knee.

I'm sure they looked into the crystal ball and saw Vince's injury woes. The guy sold out the ACC and kept the Raptors in Toronto, without him, the Grizz wouldn't have been the only team to fly south.

Lol Knee replacement,I've never heard of anyone having that and ever being 100% again.And I should know I've got more plastic and titanium in my left knee than I do actual body parts.That is just nonsense,If such a prcedure were real I'd think MJ would have had his replaced.Maybe your thinking 'repaired' and thats still no guarantee of 100%.

What VC needs is heart surgery (Not literally) alittle 'heart' implanted into him,No one would trade Kobe for Vince thats just insane.I'd say if Toronto wants to deal him they should take what they can get cause he's done about as much as he's ever going to do in his career.

I just love how he is still one of the highest selling guys on the net. He has been hurt all season and yet everyone still wants to pay the big bucks for an autoed shoe lace.

Vince is signed with Fleer, of course they're going to put him in every set. Same with Vlad in baseball, there's not one Donruss set that he isn't in. They sign the guys to exclusive contracts, they're not going to throw the money away.

Should rephrase that, Do YOU need 5 different inserts sets of him, no. Do THEY need 5, yes, like you said, he's still chased after in this hobby, he's selling packs/boxes/cases for them.

and let me tell u this..jrich isn't about dunks. i lot of doubters question if he can do anything other than dunk and he can. he can shoot, has solid ball handling skills, etc.

another guy people question if he can do anything other than dunk is richard jefferson. and the answer to this one is NO. he plays solid d but he can't dribble for crap and he doesn't even have a j. you all know it! sorry but rj won't become an all star like you all think because he has no handles and bricks almost everytime he shoots. but if he learns how to dribble and shoot (ask your teammate kidd. he used to suck as shooting as well especially from long range but now he can really shoot), he may become an all star.
