  • Be honest, know everything about what you're selling and give good info about your material but no overkill - have nice pictures of your material - have a fair shipping and return policy. Once you do this the rest should be gravy!

This is a big topic. I learn a lot just looking at others auctions. I try to take notice what others do to get good prices. I also study what people with bad feedback do. Be honest and try not to hype what you sell.

I'll comment on the photo part. Lots of sellers link their pictures to their own rinky dink servers that don't work ½ the time. So if I click on an auction and the pict don't load in about 2 seconds I back button right out of there and go somewhere else. If it's something that I'm really really REALLY interested in I might save it to my watch list so I can check back later and see if the pictures are working yet.
I've never had any problems with eBay pict server but it is clumsy to use.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

    1. Be honest in your descriptions - it's a hassle dealing with returns and relistings - have a decent return policy.
    2. Use good quality photos liberally - I prefer the ebay service as noted above - it's cheap and easy
    3. Be reasonable in your reserves
    4. Answer emails promptly
    5. Accept PayPal or other electronic payments along with checks/MO's
    6. Bend over backwards to make the customer happy
    7. Leave neg. feedback only after exhausting all other means of settling your disputes

Good luck - if any of your steins are English white ironstone, I'll be your 1st customer!image

I like everything on Lakesamman's list. Being honest about a coins description can't be stressed enough. You can hype stuff up in the auction all you want, but if the coin doesn't fit the bill, you'll end up with it as a return. Returns are a hassle.....for everyone involved. Good luck!

You should download their TurboLister - it's quick and easy to write ads, plus you can incorporate your photos up top without using your own host. Once you configure it, it goes quick.

Have good photos and a description of the coin noting any flaws and play up any features.

One thing I do is add a link to my about me page with all the terms and condiditions. (Click on my ebay auctions link below to see)
