Profile vs. Full Face

With the possible exception of a few commemoratives, I can't recall ever seeing a full face image on a coin. Yet they do it all the time on currency!! How come? Twowood

Ive seen some darkside coins which had full face, and when these coins became worn, they started to look down right creepy! I think this is what'll happen with Sac's - if they ever DO circulate.
