Ugly NGC Slabs

Recently purchased a box of slabbed coins at a estate sale. Included were a '67 and '68 Kennedy Half Pair
graded MS 65 by NGC. No time to look at all the coins before purchase (about 40 in the box). When I got home
and went through them the '67 and '68 are fingerprinted, corroded, spotted and completely dull. Rest of the coins
are quite nice. Do I have any recourse with NGC with the Halves?
BTW first post but I have enjoyed reading these forums for some years.
Thanks

welcome to the forum, glad you decided to join.
My guess is that since these coins are rather common, your best bet is to chalk it up to experience. This is a common problem being experienced by NGC a while back - they were slabbing butt ugly coins - they've gotten lots better lately, or else people quit sending ugly coins to them.

Welcome to the boards.
I would recommend contacting NGC customer service at (800) 642-2646, explaining the situation and seeing if you can send the coins to them for review / possible purchase to remove from the market place.
In the future, I'd recommend posting questions pertaining to NGC problems (hopefully you wont have any more, though!) on the NGC board - you are likely to get better feedback and it is also possible that someone from NGC will reply directly to your inquiry that way. Good luck.
