  • Try Mississippi D, but the difference is indifferent.
  • From the article "The Mint in 2003," by Marcy Gibbel in the January 2003 COINage: "Fore (mint director Henrietta Holsman Fore) said that the Mint, like the economy, is 'cyclical and seasonal,' so it is still too soon to make any production projections for 2003. By the end of 2002, however, nearly 12.2 billion coins total will have been produced for the year. Of that number, roughly 3 billion will be quarters, down nearly a billion from Fiscal Year 2001."

"Fore went on to say that the Mint will continue to produce between 600 and 800 million quarters per state, keeping the level relatively consistent so as to honor them equally."

Looks as though the numbers struck will be down somewhat for awhile, and Virginia, at least for awhile longer, will continue to have the "honor" of being the state with the most quarters struck. image
