Did I Get Lucky? B-I-N below web page price

Tuesday I bought an AU55 Seated Half from North East Numismatics using BIN on e-bay for $189. I didn't remember ever seeing this coin on their web site, so I went to look. It is listed there now with a price of $219. Seams odd to me they'd list it with a B-I-N bid $30 below the asking price on the web. I wonder if the BIN price was meant to be higher?

  • The numismedia price guide lists your coin at $240, so to get it at the price you paid seems reasonable. Maybe the price they had on their web page was the best they could hope for kinda thing.

Catalog prices on the web are usually alot higher than same dealer's BINS on Ebay. Good examples
are R&I and L&C. In same cases their catalog prices are double the BINS on Ebay. Thats why I love
    Ebay.

Grey sheet is $145 for AU, and $360 for MS60. I certainly found $189 very reasonable for AU55.

I still don't understand why a new item in inventory would be listed on e-bay with a BIN well below their web price. This is not a stock coin like a PR69DCAM state quarter.

  • if you like it then you did good. if you bought it hoping for a profit i would recommend you return it.
