Since we're now moving on from Christmas, what were your greatest hits and greatest blunders of 2002???
For me, my biggest blunder was doing the rookie thing with some raw Morgans, though fortunately I was smart enough not to go too far over the edge before I saw the error of my ways. As for the biggest hit, the purchase of an 1880CC Morgan from GSAGUY, that turned out to be quite an interesting coin.
So - how about you guys??? - Post a picture of your goodies if you got'em!

My biggest hit was selling a coin to a dealer for over grey sheet ask.
I hate it when you see my post before I can edit the spelling.
Always looking for nice type coins
my local dealer
Bought an MS66PL 1881-S Morgan for $145!
Bought an MS64FH 1930 SLQ for $275. Upgraded to MS65FH!
Blunders...
Bought an 1853 Seated Half in AU53 or 55 with a nasty gash through the rays. Returned it
So I submitted them to PCGS and wasted tons of money. Every coin came back AU and two were body bagged. I was so angry I almost gave up collecting again thinking about how much I spent. So I went away from morgans for several months and started doing type sets. But now I've learned a lot and won't get taken like that again.
My biggest hits include getting a monster toned rainbow morgan for $28 and a red-brown toned peace for $90. On the first, I know it'd sell for more. On the day I got the peace, I had one person offer twice what I paid. So I like that! But I have learned, now that I've sold off some stuff, that I like collecting more than selling. So I'm selling off only a few more things and then I'll probably be done for a long time.

The biggest hit was finally getting a 1925D Mint State Dime that is decent. The 1927S and 1926S Dimes rank right up with the 25D also but were somewhat easier to find in nice condition.
As usual it looks like 2003 may be also set up for the Blundering compulsive coin purchases that are sometimes made.

Biggest hit, a Proof 1940 Mercury 10c with a moderately frosted obverse, and a heavy reverse.
A good hit was this Morgan that looked liked Liberty's head was on fire and she jumped under the water to put it out: Text
"The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD GOD Almighty."
My biggest hit was selling all my PR70DCAMs 2 months before they became worthless.
Worst mistake was several crack-outs
Biggest blunder was buying a Pine Tree 3p which turned out to be holded and repaired. Ouch.
My biggest blunder was sending too many 67RD cents to PCGS to be graded. Now I have a bunch of PCGS "66RD's" that are better than 50% of the PCGS 67RD's on the market.
David
Purchasing a couple of nicely toned commems from Heritage auctions and making a killing on them on eBay.
Not buying the West Point coins. I was debating buying a bunch, but didn't. They're dogs and will be $17 coins as soon as the mint stops selling them.
Sent in a couple of true dogs to PCGS as "set up" coins and they graded them several points too high. These are no question about it screw-ups. Turned $30 coins into $300 coins. Thanks!
Blunder: Sending in about 100 super gem Lincolns (Memorials) to PCGS. Two batches sent in the same day. Both contained coins of similar quality.
First batch graded mainly MS64. A complete load of crap! I'll put these coins against other MS64 coins any day. Hell, I'll put these against MS66s any day. I'm thinking of actually showing a couple of these coins to David Hall.
Second batch just graded today. Again, these coins were of the same quality as the first invoice. These coins graded mainly MS66. Not a single MS67. They sure are better then the MS67s made a few months back.
I guess it is time to go to NGC for Lincolns. Sure, you can not get the same money for an NGC MS67 Lincoln as a PCGS one, but you get better than MS66 PCGS money for them.
I can only guess the difference in grades is due to the fact the one batch was graded by the (real) economy graders and the other batch was graded by the (Mr. Magoo) modern graders.
At least I jumped the pop of some coins by about 25% and 15%.
Hey, anyone need some MS66 Memorial Lincolns? I have a bunch...
Submitting clad Ikes to PCGS. What I used to get graded MS65 now gets graded MS63/64. MY grading standards have not changed. Humm.....
Using the PCGS regrade service. From now on I think I'll just mail the money to the graders directly. It's faster for me and the results are the same.
VERY nice profit.
Biggest blunder: Not buying the local dealer's PCGS MS66 Pan Pac
Half with a pretty ring of rainbow toning around both
sides. I saw it a few times and by the time I decided
to buy it, it was gone.
Biggest hit: Making a 2002 West Point MS69 and a PR70DCAM
Biggest blunder: Selling an 1871 California gold half in a NR auction for a $175 loss
