This guy has been a frequent topic of discussion on the forums.

You can see his work here.

I thought maybe he'd at least be honest about it, so I sent him an eMail and asked. Here it is, with his response on top:

    Merry Christmas!!

Well, technically he's correct, he doesn't know anything about toning coins, if he did they would look alot better. And of course it is chemical, but he probably doesn't know enough to know which one caused them to look so bad.

So I say, he's using Clintonese, and not lying!

  • I think he should stick to his paintings and leave the coins alone image
  • I'd say he's using Bush-ese, doesn't know what he's talking about.

You should have omitted "artificially" from your question! image

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Looks like he got his hands on a roll of 64 Kennedy's for sure!

FOR SOME REASON I HAVE A HARD TIME TAKING SOMEBODY SERIOUSLY WHEN THEY DON'T KNOW PROPER USE OF THE CAP LOCK KEY.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Huh? It reads like he`s contradicting himself. If he knows about " coins toned by time and air or chemical " wouldn`t he know why it looks that way? What other way is there? Putting them in the oven at 400 degrees fits the definition of " time and air " . Also chemical if its a gas oven. The only way to avoid " air " is to put them in outer space that is out of our atmosphere.
  • i've spilled coffee all over a morgan once and it looked better than some of these!! (it was an accident, really i was reaching for the price guide and before i knew it my coffee was all over the table and coin.)image
