I can only save pics from email. Whether it be an auction or web site, I have never been able to save a pic. I right click, save to, save as. But when I save as, it doesn't give me the option of jpec. Just art or bitmap. When I save, it does save as a jpec but there is nothing there and windows XP says it doesn't know where it came from. I save all my scans and email images to the "My Pictures in Windows XP. I guess there is something I need to enable but I've tried, and for the life of me I can't find it.
Thanks for any help and wish the best to all during this holiday season.

This sounds like a question for Russ - I just tried to save the picture of your pooch and it worked fine for me - must be something in your PC settings.

It gave me the option for jpec. But any other time it doesn't.
If you're using XP, when you right click an image, you'll see a "save picture as " option on the pop-up menu. Select that option, and you'll see a window with save pic as info. The folder at the top of the window will allow you to select the folder to save the image in. At the bottom will be two text boxes. The top one asks for the filename. The bottom allows you to select the format to save the file as. Select jpeg. When you have saved the file, minimize explorer, and navigate to the folder you saved the file in and double-click it. You should see the image you saved.
Helpful tip - from the start menu, choose all programs, then accessories. Find Windows Explorer. Right click and drag Windows Explorer to your desktop. When you release the right button, you'll be prompted "Move file here, or create shortcut?". Choose create shortcut. From then on, finding a file in windows directory structure will be much easier. Good luck!

Thanks, stman
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Edit: It makes viewing pages very slow as it said it would by not compressing graphics, but at least I can do it now.
