  • Pretty toning, I like it. I can't help on whether it is real or AT though.
  • i don't like it but it doesn't make the coin look any worse.

Ick... Should have left it in the oven until the thingee pops up. Just like a turkey!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

A pretty beast indeed. The pocket piece I carry has worn down to AU-50-ish, and Sacagawea's face looks like Skeletor! image

Yikes.Toneing on these pieces leave a lot to desire.
It looks to me that it was intentionally colored if only but accident.
It looks odd in that the rim is untoned yet the fields are purple. That wouldnt be too bad for any other coin but that rim is huge.It sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Why does the Indian chick have a baby's head in a sack slung over her shoulder?

Beast - I don't think these things can tone nicely, and if they happen to, it will unstable (temporary).

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Actually, I kinda like the way the toning makes her eyes blue.

  • I've pulled some dramatically toned 2000-P Sacs of out of the ends of rolls stored in original mint cardboard shipping boxes, even some with some blue. Apparently the cardboard they used in the boxes has a high chemical content. So it is possible to get some nice "original" toning on Sacs.

As to yours, well, Merry Christmas! image

Sac in Sunset. Just doesn't look right...
  • Ive gotten 2 end pieces that came out toned really nicely, and yes the toning of these coins suck. Have you read the composition of these coins?

The "Indian chick" is Randi L'Teton, a full blooded Shoshonee, who was an intern at the ANA museum a couple of summers ago. She spilled the beans on the "baby's head in a sack". Turns out it was a Walmart doll image.

Randi L'Teton is spooky looking on that coin.
I didn't know Shoshonee was headhunters.
