Here is a copy of the email I sent him.

" I am sure this is a mistake, but you're listing a PCGS coin as NTC. I am sure its a mistake, as you
know PCGS will sell alot quicker especially for a nice coin like this. Consider this a free courtesy email"

    Happy Holidays,

    Probably a borrowed scan.

Something about these auctions just doesn't feel right. Very expensive coins, with very little track record and the seller uses an eMail service that hides all traceable header information. My spidey sense is tingling on this one. I hope I'm wrong.

LordMarcovan has purchased from him. Maybe if he sees this he can provide some insight.

  • Yea, i was thinking it wasn't the original pic.

Doesn't have a return policy or nothing. I guess this is one where someone will be pressing their luck and hoping for no whammies.

If he's pulling a bait and switch from NTC to PCGS, then sign me up!!!!!. as long as its not the other
way around. image It reminds me of an episode of America's Dummest Criminals where the guy who
held up the bank wrote the hold up note on the back of the deposit slip with his name and address
and gave it to the teller.

  • This man is going to be getting some emails...

Because image I sent him one first!!!

I vote "bait and switch!" I bet the winner gets an NTC coin! He either borrowed the pics, or hoped no one would see the difference.

Extremely attractive despite a few trivial obverse abrasions that are so insignificant, one might argue a higher grade. (quoted from his description)

I disagree i find the "trivial" abrasions very distracting and i am of the opinion that it won't make a higher grade. Anyone else?

  • Well, they appear to be on the cheek so I don't think it is going anywhere.. 63 looks about right.

  • Here's an email exchange I had with the guy - his email address is at the bottom: Something doesn't seem right about this.

Is this coin in an NTC or PCGS holder? Is this the actual coin?

    > >The coin is in an NTC holder and the coin you see is the actual coin.

OK - Im a little confused, because the coin in the picture is in a PCGS
holder. Could you explain that please?

    Thanks

    Frank

    > >It was in a PGCS holder before I sent it in to NTC. The photo was taken when it was in a PCGS holder (63PL). Sent in for the upgrade.

  • HUH!!! so he goes from PCGS MS63-PL to NTC 63 DMPL really didn't get anywhere. Guess that's what happens when you get too greedy.

PCGS price list doesn't even list DM in that year and mint also in PL the highest is 63 then just dashes
