ebay shipping fees are getting so outrageous

Regular mail for one card is a 37 cent stamp and a 10 cent envelope. Insurance up to $100 is $2.20. I have seen shipping fees way worse than this, it is becoming another way for a seller to make a few more bucks. I have seen some where shipping for one card is like $15?!?! Why can't ebay make sellers charge actual cost plus a little extra for the time and gas money?

I always check shipping fees om Ebay...I skip the ones where the shipping is excessive...I think it says something about the sellers character and maybe they are a rippper

I charge $2.50 that's a padded envelope and I use lables and there not free nor is the ink for the printer, most of the time a screwdown. I allway suggest Insurance on High end cards $1.30 for each $50.00.

Does that sound to high?

No, I think $2-$3 for padded envelope shipping is fine. You're cheating yourself on the insurance though, it costs $2.20 for the first $50.

BTW when I combine shipping .50 each card or I just ship them together with out any extra charge.

How nice, $19 to ship all those cards. If you do that you should tell him you want every card in a seperate bubble envelope then, see how he likes that one. And Pacman, its $1.30 for $50 or less of insurance and $2.20 for $50.01-$100 worth of insurance

I charge $5.25 on my auctions and send priority mail .Priority is the only way I will ship unless insurance is added to the package . I don't take any chance's with someone tell me they haven't received the card/cards from me .I track them myself so I know when they receive them just to be safe.......

I just sent a card full insured for $250.00 and it only cost $4.65.

Yea the fees can be expensive. Once i bought autograph card, the guy charged me$5 to ship, and said it would be very safe shipping, it cost him .35 to mail it, and card was in a flimsey, easy to bend holder. I gave him a neutral, and he gave me a negative back for no reason. The guy was a joke

I bought some team card lots (around 15) on ebay that were like $1 each and the seller charged $40 for shipping (cost $5) and the cards were junk and most were damaged.

It's $3.85 for priority mail then another $1.40 Delivery Confirmation .

It's a rip off the Postal Service but I feel better knowing what is going on with the packages I send .........

Bigg, why do you want to waste money on that junk? Just send it regular mail with delivery confirmation on it. .55 for delivery confirmation on that and it takes maybe at the most a day longer to get there. Sjipping priority with delivery confirmation is not safer than sending regular mail with delivery confirmation

Ok, I thought insurance cost $2.20 because every person at the post office has told me that $51 is the minimum that you can insure something for and it cost $2.20.

I would contact eBay on any outrageous shipping charges, as it is a strict violation of eBay policy to do this. This is from eBay:

You know for a fact that it will not cost $19 to send 1st class, I would forward, hi se-mail to eBay immediately.


Below is my standard shipping charges:

Winning bidder to add $1.50 for shipping in a padded envelope or $2.75 for insured delivery if under $50. If the item ends at over $50 insurance is REQUIRED and starts at $3.50 for $50-$100 and $1 extra for each additional $100. Cards will not be shipped until insurance is paid for all items that end over $50. Shipping is combined on Multiple auction winnings and the $1.50 covers up to 3 cards, just be sure to include insurance where applicable.
