If the coin really looks like this..........

I bid on this kennedy because the contrast looked so good. I probably paid a bit much, but i knew i couldn't be at my PC to snipe. Has anyone bought from the seller before or received an auction coin that didn't come close to the scan? If the picture is accurate.........!!!image

Wow that one sure is frosty. The label is still blue so I don't think it was tweaked too much.

it's got some dings on the shield so it's not a 69 candidate, but the frost and contrast were too good too pass without a try. the lettering on the insert looks kinda weird, it has that "shaky" look to it, and usually i consider that if the insert color is right, the coin is, also. kinda like flesh-tones on a color TV!!

The color on the insert can still be right but the lighting can still make the frost whiter and the fields blacker without affecting the blue insert. I doubt if it really looks like the first coin out of the dies but it just might.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

That might just be from resizing the scan if the aspect ratio wasn't precise.

Take a look at this coin the seller has: Funny Looking Franklin

    Same with some other lots.

    Al,

I haven't purchased from that seller, but the heaviest caked on cam I've ever seen has been on 69 JFK's. I imagine the contrast is enhanced a little in the image, but I would expect a real screamer. I had a 69 that embarrassed my other coins. 80's JFK's were like that too, except the clads don't approach the luster. Good luck!image
