What is the meaning of "Cut Cards" ?

I often see this term when people refer to BGS/BVG in grading, how do you recognize this and more importantly. . .what is it? Thanks

Occasionally, cards are sold in sheets or inserted into magazines. If the collector wants the card to be graded, he will "cut" the card from the sheet. Some grading companies will not grade these cards. Beckett will.
