A nice Licoln proof find

I want through dealers junk box and I bought this Lincoln proof, but when I took a closer look at home - bingo it's a double or triple dieimage. A cool find for 75 cents. image

  • Nice find...maybe. Is there another example of this doubling? Could it just be a die shift and not a true doubling?

That's likely the real thing...there is a tripled die obverse 1970S proof listed by Wexler. I've never seen one of the coins before, though.

Very nice. Does "IGWT" have much doubling?

If this tripled die is the one I have notes on, it is not so much the spread that's noticeable, it's the fact that there are two small ridge gaps on most of the devices on the obverse indicating three slightly rotated hubbings. The coin in a 5X loupe would more or less display "thick" letters (in the motto, horizontally thick), but with 16X or better, the three separate hubbings would come clear.
