Man, was I wrong!

About a week or so ago I posted a thread about my submission results. 19 Jefferson's graded and only 5 made FS. I went on a rant about how I know a full step nickel and so on........... I now have the coins in my hand and I was wrong. PCGS was more right than I was. I looked the coins over and can't believe I submitted them. The coins that didn't make FS are just that. I must have been having a bad day. Can I plead temporary insanity?

You have my respect. Good post. I've done the same thing. I really complained in a thread once about one of my submissions, and when my coins were returned, 2 of the proofs I knew would score big had hazed en route, and looked like junk. I have learned to revisit the coin after it is returned before I disagree with the grade given.

Good job! Now could I interest you in some almost "Full Bell Lines"? (kidding) I am sure that if I talked to you long enough on Grog nite (sat), You would see them as well.....LOL

Was the hazing a result of temperature/humidity changes en route to the slabbing table? I've seen someone else's post on the forum a while back that spoke to this, although I can't remember if it was climate-related or the type of holder the coin was sent in.

You're in good company (or, bad company if somebody I've pissed off is reading this). When I first started submitting proof Kennedys, I blew it so many times I'd be embarassed to publicly reveal it. Well, actually I did.
It took me a whole bunch of studying the returned submissions, comparisons and more submissions (not to mention a fair chunk of cashola) before I finally got to the point where I'm close most of the time.
