Submitting Coin ?

I am new to getting coins graded. I have a few Proof coins that I'd like to get graded and PCGS states to : House your coins individually in flexible plastic flip (we do not accept acrylic snap cases).

Does this mean that I have to remove the coin from the US Mint case?
If I do have to do this what is the best way to transfer coins to the plastic flip?
Won't putting it in the flip give it a better chance to scratch?
Whats the best kind of flip to use?
Any links to this info would be great.

Thank You

Jclout

I haven't done this yet, but I am told that if you send in a proof set in its original housing, and want every coin graded, they will do it, as long as every coin gets graded.

  • Jclout, Any coin that you have from the US Mint, in the mint capsule, may be submitted to PCGS just as it is packaged. You should slip the encapsulated coin into a 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" flip and label it per PCGS requirements and they will remove the coin and grade it.
