Got to meet David Lange today!

<p>Hi guys! I've been away from the board for awhile but had to relate to you my early Christmas present from my wife. She arranged for me to meet with David Lange at the NGC office here in Sarasota and had him sign my new copy of his Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels. What a great guy! He seemed genuinely interested in my collection and went over some of the changes he added to his second edition. Looks like I'll be doing some extra shopping for the wife!

I met him at the NGC booth at Long Beach. Nice guy who looked at one of my coins for me.

Hey, I also got a signed copy of his Buffalo book. NGC gives them out occasionally for their trivia question.

That's a great present! I met Mr. Lange when I was 13 at the 1993 ANA Convention in Baltimore. His 1st edition Buffalo book had just come out and he was signing them. I went up to the table and bought his last copy and he gave me a discounted price on it. He also signed it. Little did he know that Buffalos would become my favorite coins to collect for years.

Yeah, he seems to be a pretty down to earth guy. I was impressed. I spoke with Mr. Bowers at a show in Indianapolis years ago but got the feeling I was in over my head. Could've just been me. I know a lot of folks who feel he's an easygoing guy but ...
