I bought my first coin from David Lawrence.

I saw this listed on their website, and bought it before they even had a picture associated with the coin. It wasn't overly expensive, and I figured I could return it if I didn't like it.

Well, I got the coin today, and I'm just blown away by it. The description simply said "looks unc, great strike". They failed to mention that the coin has very lusterous magentas and blues covering the entire reverse and a good chunk of the obverse. Nothing that my $40 scanner can accurately depict at all. I paid $128 for this, and would have gladly paid triple that.

Yeah, it is in an AU58 holder. I've been buying them up like mad lately...I personally think they're the best bargains around. I do agree with the grade on this one...there is just a tiny bit of rub on the horn and shoulder of the bison. But I'm not complaining.
  • They are a good dealer. I have purchased a half dozen coins from them in the last 10 months. Never a problem even when I returned a coin because I thought it was overgraded. Nice bunch of folks. I am lucky because they are only 50 miles from me.

  • I placed my third order in the last 4 months last week. After I made my order and had it confirmed, I wasn`t able to go back into their site. Then a couple of days ago I e-mailed them about it and lo-and-behold John Feigenbaum e-mailed me back. I was blown away by that, him being the President of the firm and cleared it up right away. So I`m impressed that he e-mailed me personally and dealt with it. As well as the coins that I`ve ordered from them.
