Yet another newbie

Hi - it must be a big day for newbies. I'v been collecting for several years, after having been out of it for 25 years or so. Originally started in the mid-1960s when Coin World was two fat sections every week and rolls of 1950D nickels were the Real Deal. Left it when I went into the service and finally got hooked again a few years back. My main interests are gold type and gold dollars, needless to say my additions are relatively infrequent. I've been reading these boards for a few months and it seems like a pretty good interchange of information. One current project is obtaining the six volumes of David Akers' analysis of gold coin auction records at reasonable prices, I've found the first three so far, but still need the ones on $5s, $10s, and $20s. I watch the eBay US gold area, and have had some pretty fair luck there. Keep it coming!

Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't an optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.

My mind reader refuses to charge me....

    Welcome ms71.

Do you remember when BU rolls of 50-D nickels peaked at circa $1,000? Not particuarly a great investment....
