Rockets, 76ers, Nuggets agree to 3-way trade

Basically, the 76ers get Kenny Thomas from the Rockets, the Rockets get James Posey from the Nuggets, and the Nuggets get Art Long, Mark Bryant, and a 1st round pick from the 76ers. I hate that the Rockets shipped off Thomas, but Posey will be a nice addition. The Nuggets were really shooting for even more cap space for next year. LMK what you guys think

    I say the Sixers get the best of the deal. Thomas should fit in well, he can get rebounds and chip in some points on second chance oportunities. Posey is a good player but the Rockets dont need another scorer. Nuggets just wanted the cap room. They can get a good player between this and Howard leaving.

    Nuggets also waived Kenny Satterfield today.

    Posey is a good player but the Rockets dont need another scorer.

    Posey is not a scorer, both at Xavier and at the pros he has always been known as a defensive specialist.

    Denver not win another game? Thats the plan. Last Place = Best chance at Lebron James.

    Posey is averaging 14.1 PPG, thats 0.3 away from leading the team in scoring. He is leading the team in total points. He is only getting 1.16 steals per game and 0.24 blocks per game. It would seem that he is more of an offensive force than a defensive specialist.

    14 points on a crap team mean absolutely nothing, and he can't gamble on steals on the perimeter without a shotblocker behind him. Anyone who has been watching basketball for more than the past year knows Posey's rep, both at Xavier and in his first few years in the league. I think he'll fit in nicely in Houston, they don't need more scoring, they need perimeter defense, which Posey can give instead of Glen Rice, also known as "the revolving door" on defense.

    Like you said, it is a crap team. When a crap team only has 2 guys averaging double figures in scoring the other team concentrates most of the defensive pressure on the only two guys that can put numbers on the board. Houston just did the trade to get rid of Kenny Thomas to give the young, and more physically talented Eddie Griffin some more playing time.

    Posey has a poor shooting % also.

    Posey will be an awesome defender with Ming at his back. He is not a big offensive force, shooting around 35% from the floor and leading the Nuggets in turnovers, but will be a nice 4th scoring option. Damn Houston is gona have a BADA$$ team in 2-3 years. Ming is whiping the floor with Brad Miller and Jermaine O'neal right now on ESPN, Francis is a top 5 guard, and Mobley is probably the best 3rd scoring options in the NBA. With Posey, Griffin, Rice, Norris, and Cato, the Rockets have a very bright future. The NBA better watch out in a couple of seasons

    Erik, I agree.

    Houston has done a great job of putting some young talent around Francis. I personally believe that Francis/Ming is gonna be around for a long long time.
