The real story is that in 1985 or so the local coin dealers...Hannes Tulving, Thad Olson, Richard Melamed, Steve Contursi and I decided to have a softball team...we called our team the "Sliders." At our first practice we played a game on a field with a short left field fence. I hit 9 home runs in one game and Thad Olson and Richard Melamed started calling me "Home Run Hall."
