Wow, two submission in the same day! Much better

Being less than pleased (right or wrong) my other submission received today is much better. PCGS received this economy submission on 12-3-02. Things are speeding up. Text

Whoah! 14 day turnaround. Was that economy or regular?

  • Russ, it was economy! What do you think of the grade of MS-64 for the AH Kennedy. I was sure hoping for better than that. I really can't complain about the grade since I haven't a clue what is taken into consideration. All I can say is that it was pure with no visible problems.

14 days for your economy? Where the hell are my 2 economy submissions they got on 11/19?

What is going on there? image

I had two regular submissions that graded over a week apart. The one that took longer had insert numbers sequentially to the invoice that graded earlier.
  • Greg, bear in mind that my other submission that I received the grading today was recevied by PCGS on 11-13-02. I have no idea why the speed of my second submission, but I'm grateful.

    Ogden,

My guess on the Accented Hair is that hairlines put it in a 64 holder. I can't say for sure without seeing the coin, but absent any other visible problems, that's usually what will do it with these.

  • mnm, I have no idea what the 1960 D/D large date over small date is worth, or vice versa. I just found it in some of my coins and thought I'd send it in.

Mt guess is that they are backed up and some coin invoices hit the fast channels in verification and some do not. probably a big mess with coins coming in faster than they can verify them. Christmas parties and what not have caused a back up no doubt. PCGS can exceed the turnaround time but they stick to the timeline they say when submitting I would bet for this reason.

Well, I submitted 12 coins or so last week (they got it last wed, I think). One invoice is crossovers, another is grading. So hopefully by being at the quarter and year mark, they'll plow through them in order to count the income against this year and not next year. And being so few in number, they'd be easy to whip out. If it takes 5-10 seconds per coin we're talking 60-120 seconds here...
