Given the undergraded/overgraded thread begun here yesterday, any thoughts on this one?

I know the scans could be better but, given that, any thoughts?

Maybe it's a nice coin but it's dinged and would bodybag at PCGS, so the person submitted it to ACG.
It looks nice, although, from reading recent posts, I can say with a good deal of certainty that the scan can be way different than the coin itself.
In plain english, don;t trust ACG slabs! If you insist on purchasing ACG certified coins, ensure you have a return available.

No- that is a plastic thing that keeps the coin in place... unfortunately it can't fall out of its tomb alone

I would agree with Nap if that is really a ding on the reverse - to me it just looks like some slab material. Anyway, you're always playing Russian Roulette with ACG. But, I'll stick with the MS-64 RB if the scan is accurate and no rim ding- but that is a BIG if.
1899 is a very common date for IHS, a buyer should be able to get a nice 1899 at a reasonable price without taking a chance on ACG.
For the record I own one ACG coin - which I keep for demonstration purposes - ACG 1876 MS-64 RD - actually AU-55 details, artificial toning. I would never buy an ACG coin (or NTC) without seeing it.
