.........that sure is a strange one. i just had to look out the window to see what all the lights and sirens were about!!!!! you're cynical, but i believe justifyably so.
It's not too hard to believe. I just don't believe it.
The fact that the scanner wouldn't work with a 200MHz Pentium with 48 megs of ram is a little hard to believe.
The BIN price he has is OK if the coin is really an MS63. Given the fact that ICG called it MS63 and there is no picture, I'd probably pay AU money ($300).
However, the picture of the Christmas tree was a nice touch. And I like his other auctions of selling you feedback and spam for only 50¢.
Check out all his previous purchases/sales. All 50 cents and a dollar to build a phony rating. You can't even prove this is fraud if he ships an Isabella in an ICG 63 holder.
It is questionable. However, he indicates that for 50¢ he is going to sent you email of some sort. While I assume that it is technically OK by eBay rules, it sure voilates the spirit of the rules. If eBay cared more about a fair system and less about their 30¢ insertion fee and 3¢ final value fee, they'd yank these types of auctions.

Well I guess the e-mail thing might cover his butt.
dudes, the trick is not the crackout story, it's the prices he listed. i think eveything he said is true, but he used the real old trick of listing the current price in US$ 450., but the canadian price was $855 canadian , whcih is about ........ US$450.
just guessing, but i've seen this pulled before from dealers
<< <i>It's possible his only scanner is a USB- a lot of older machines don't have a USB port, so the scanner won't work. >>
True, but he makes it sound (to me at least) that his computer isn't powerful enough for the scanner. However, if he can afford a scanner that is only USB, then he can afford a few dollar converter.

Hmm.. should I spend 50¢ then leave him negative feedback?
Is that even within eBay rules? I thought you had to have a physical item?

forget the coin...you get to provide the 21st feedback...
