Feast or Famine

The one thing that drives me crazy is the feast and famine cycles of coins. Every go two months without see one good coin? Then the next month you find 10 great coins you want! But you have to pass on a couple of great coins because you already made 8 rapid fire buys and have spent all your coin cash? Then you have to watch several great coins get away never to be seen again! The most troubling thing about this hobby is the great coin that got away.

That's the worst thing about the hobby. The neatest thing is the way a collection
seems to come to you preassembled. Often I'll run into just the coin I need for a
collection repeatedly till it's done. All I have to do is be there to get them. And still
    they come in waves!

I couldn't agree more! In the past couple of weeks I've had several dealers post numerous toned Peaces. I can't possible pick up all of them. So I have to pass on a coin that I might like better than when I already have in order to fill a hole.

The question becomes upgrade vs. completion. Toned Peaces are tough to find period, making that question even more difficult. I'm sure that in the next couple of weeks, I won't be able to find a single nicely toned Peace dollar !image
